SAFEGUARDING

Home & Away Student Services is a student services provider who aim to give students the best possible UK experience. We achieve this through a combination of high-quality homestay accommodation, education programmes, and cultural travel and tours.

Our highest priority is the safety of all the students we work with. This is why Home & Away Students has a range of safeguarding measures in place that apply to all staff, families, and adults we work with.

SAFEGUARDING

MEASURES

We take special care when placing students with host families (particularly those who are younger than 18) through a variety of means.

• We require families hosting juniors (under 18) to have or undertake a DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check for all members of the household over 18 years old

• Host families all sign a declaration regarding The Children’s Act 1989 and 2004. This demonstrates their commitment to protect young students from any harm while staying in their home, regardless of race, culture, religion, gender, sexuality and disability

• Our accommodation department stay in close contact with all our host families to ensure visibility of homes and the students’ experiences
